A rum made by Mr. Frederick Bestel on the island of Mauritius, which floats in the Indian Ocean on the east side of Africa.
The company name "LITCH QUOR" is a coined word from lychee and liqueur, and comes from the fact that Mr. Frederick originally gained fame for his lychee liqueur. Gold of Mauritius is aged in port wine barrels for 3 months after distillation before filtering. After filtration, the wine is aged in barrels for a further 8-12 months. Aromas of slightly rustic cork and notes of chocolate, peanuts, coconut, ripe bananas and burnt wood. Sharp flavors of walnuts, chocolate-covered peanuts. The finish is walnut, chocolate and oak wood. Excellent compatibility with cigars!
