Founded in 1837, it is one of the few remaining distilleries in the Lowlands. Despite being only 20 miles (about 32km) from the hustle and bustle of Edinburgh, the capital of Scotland, the whiskey produced is called "Edinburgh Malt" in a peaceful landscape surrounded by barley fields.
