It is the only rum made according to British Navy specifications, and has a history of being distributed as a daily allowance for over 300 years until the system was abolished on July 31, 1970. Aged for at least 3 years, it is rich and full-bodied, yet smooth and mellow from the wood pot still. Artfully and perfectly balanced, it creates flavors such as esters. Unlike many other rums, no chemical colors or flavors are used.
